Does my granite need to be resealed?

Most granite has already been treated with a sealer when it is installed. The use of Clorox, Windex and acidic cleaners will break the down the sealer and possibly etch your stone. Cleaning with antibacterial soap and water is ideal for cleaning. If your stone darkens or absorbs water when wet we recommend that it be resealed.

What is the difference between Granite, Quartz and Quartzite?

Granite and Quartzite are natural stones. Because they are porous, they do need to be sealed. High heats cannot damage the finish and they are perfect for indoor and outdoor use. Quartz is a manmade stone made with a resin. It is impervious to water penetration and has no need to be sealed. Because of the resin, UV rays can damage the Quartz finish when used outside. Extreme high heat can also damage its finish.

Why are some natural stones more expensive than others?

Rarity of the stone is the main driving force on pricing. The rarer the stone, the more expensive it will be.
